Johannesburg: The Indian cricket team’s tour of South Africa (India’s tour of South Africa), which starts next month, is in limbo with the discovery of a new coronavirus variant in South Africa. Following the discovery of a new strain of the corona virus, several countries have begun banning flights and passengers from South Africa. Countries such as the European Union, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom have also been instructed to restrict travel from South Africa.

The Netherlands cricket team, which is currently touring South Africa, has made it clear that it will hold talks with Cricket South Africa. The India A team is currently touring South Africa. It is reported that the Indian team will return to South Africa next month for the eighth or ninth Test series.

However, the BCCI has said it will take a final decision on the tour after consulting with the central government on the situation in South Africa. The Indian tour of South Africa in 2020 is the first cricket series that Kovid has abandoned due to fears.
