The Peruvian mango industry is growing constantly and acquiring great international relevance, in markets as important as the United States and Europe, as well as in others as promising as Japan.

Peruvian mangoes have been positioning themselves in a privileged way in foreign markets through a strategy based on extraordinary quality and, especially, very consolidated distribution channels.

However, the Peruvian mango sector has to face a set of challenges that I will detail below:

* Optimize logistics to make shipments of Peruvian mango more efficient, especially to the European Union.

* Strengthen exports of Peruvian mangoes to the Japanese market, whose consumers especially value the excellent quality of Peruvian fruits.

* Urgent need to create a true Brand Image for the Peruvian mango, working on the creation of a native quality brand, which allows Peruvian mangoes to be differentiated in international markets.

* It is essential to promote the promotion of Peruvian mango in foreign markets, especially in the European Union and Japan, two very important markets for the Peruvian mango industry.

* Continue growing in the United States market, taking special advantage of the great work that the National Mango Board (NMB) is doing in terms of promotion and research in the United States.

* Develop more campaigns to promote the consumption of mangoes in the Peruvian domestic market.

* Continue strengthening the internationalization of Peruvian mango in new export markets, such as the Middle East, a very interesting market in the short and medium term.

The Peruvian mango has more and more interest and appeal to consumers around the world, due to its high quality, safety and food safety. Therefore, facing the challenges mentioned above, the commercial expectations for the Peruvian industry are fabulous and very promising for the coming years.

Notice to navigators:

In the coming years, mango production in Peru will continue to grow, improving its qualities and presentations, and betting on greater commercial diversification. It is evident that markets such as Japan or the Middle East will play a very important role for the industry. But, without forgetting, the United States and Europe will continue to be the priority markets.
