Russia’s Defense Ministry has released a recent update on the missile war between Russia and Ukraine. Russia’s Defense Ministry says it has successfully tested a missile called the Zircon Hypersonic Cruise Missile. As Moscow intensifies its offensive against Ukraine, Russia’s test of such a missile has become the talk of the international arena.
The missile is said to have been launched from the Admiral Gorshkov warship station in Russia’s Barents Sea. The Russian Defense Ministry says the missile successfully traveled 1,000 kilometers to the White Sea in the Arctic Ocean and struck accurately. Russia is reportedly testing the missile as part of a new weapons test program.
Prior to this, the first official Zircon missile test took place in October 2020. Russian President Vladimir Putin called the event “The Great Event.” Subsequent tests were conducted from the same warship and submarine.
