Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the terror attack at the Crocus music hall in the Russian capital Moscow.

Late last night, at least five men armed with assault rifles burst into the concert hall of the band “Piknik” and opened fire. They also set fire to the hall. There were probably 6,300 people in it at the time of the terrorist attack.

The death toll from the terrorist attack in Moscow has exceeded 60, the Russian Investigative Committee said, warning that it could rise. The Russian Emergencies Ministry published lists showing 99 victims admitted to 12 hospitals. Earlier, Health Minister Mihail Murashko announced 115 people admitted to medical facilities.

At night, the terrorist organization “Islamic State” took responsibility, first through the “Telegram” channels. The Islamists published a brief statement about the terror through their close Amaq news agency. According to the “Reuters” agency, SAS also has information that confirms that the terror is connected to “Islamic State”. This is probably why the US and UK warned their citizens to avoid mass gatherings in Moscow weeks ago.

The initial accusations, albeit unofficial, from the Russian side were directed at Ukraine. Kiev has denied that its units organized the attack.
