Preparing for the cessation of hostilities? Reports in Gaza that IDF forces have withdrawn from areas in the northern Gaza Strip.

This is the first withdrawal, since the beginning of the war, mainly from the western part of the northern Gaza Strip.

According to the reports, residents began to return to their homes, most of which were completely destroyed or severely damaged by the IDF attacks.

In the Palestinian media, residents of Gaza were heard describing the scale of destruction and destruction on a huge and unprecedented scale, along with the finding of many bodies.

Is the withdrawal part of a move to promote a deal for the release of the kidnapped? There is still no confirmation of this from any official, but the withdrawal seems to indicate a move that is taking place behind the scenes.

At the beginning of the week we reported that Israel agreed to lay siege to the fire for two months, this is what emerged from the talks that took place in Paris according to a report by the ‘Wall Street Journal’.

According to the reports about the deal being forged, the fire will cease for two months. This morning it becomes clear that there is a broad agreement between the parties – including among the Israelis – about the long ceasefire.

In Paris, Israeli intelligence officials led by the head of the Mossad, Dedi Barnea, met with their Egyptian and American counterparts together with the Prime Minister of Qatar. A new hostage deal is on the table, when according to Wall Street “there was broad agreement on a framework that includes a two-month pause in the fighting that will lead to the release of all the remaining hostages in Gaza and, ultimately, the end of the conflict,” the newspaper said.

This means that Israel was also ready for the framework in which the war in Gaza would eventually end, which is in complete contradiction to the words of the Prime Minister who said that the war continues and will continue until Hamas is destroyed.

After the meeting, Egyptian and Qatari officials said that they will present the outline to Hamas to see if it is willing to enter into negotiations under these conditions.

According to the newspaper, if the two phases of the month-long ceasefire and the release of the hostages go as planned, it will be possible to talk about a permanent ceasefire, the sources said.

However, the main obstacle was and remains Hamas, which not only demands an end to the war, but also insists that there be international guarantees to end the war in Gaza and return power to Hamas.

“Hamas officials indicated to the negotiators that they are flexible regarding the duration of the ceasefire and the mechanism for the release of hostages, as long as a permanent ceasefire is guaranteed in the final phase,” the Wall Street Journal wrote. In other words, Israel agreed to be flexible for a very long ceasefire, but Hamas remained in its positions because it demands a permanent cessation of fighting with guarantees.

Even if the IDF ultimately decides to return to fighting if Hamas does not live up to its promises, it is difficult to see how intense fighting will resume after two months in which Hamas regained control of the main cities in the Gaza Strip. The seemingly obvious conclusion is that Israel’s agreement to a “long ceasefire” It means agreeing to the end of the war in Gaza, an assessment that corresponds with the report of the American newspaper.
