If you have ever been surprised and delighted by a free visit to the Louvre on Sunday, now you are offered the opportunity to receive the same gift – a free visit to various places in Vilnius on the last Sunday of the month, including: the Gediminas Castle tower, the House of Stories, the Palace of the Rulers of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, House-Museum of Kazys Varnelis, National Art Gallery, Lithuanian Museum of Theatre, Music and Cinema, Radziwill Palace, Vilnius Picture Gallery and other places. Gediminas castle tower

An overview of Vilnius or watching the sunset from Gediminas Hill is an unforgettable experience, but the experience will be even stronger if you do it from the observation deck of the Gediminas castle tower, which offers a unique panorama of the city. Of course, before climbing up to the observation deck, you should familiarize yourself with the exposition located in the tower, which reveals to visitors the history of Vilnius as the political center of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. Cannonballs are exhibited here, preserved from the time of the Crusader raids of the XIV-XV centuries, letters from Prince Gediminas to Pope John XXII and European merchants, written in 1322-1323, an installation dedicated to the Baltic Way, which will make you feel like a participant in this event, and other interesting things. .

Palace of Rulers

National Art Gallery

The National Art Gallery has 11 exhibition halls of the permanent exhibition, which showcase over 46,000 exhibits of Lithuanian art of the 20th-21st centuries. The gallery exhibits modern and latest Lithuanian painting, sculpture, graphics, photography, objects, installations, video art. The changing exhibition hall hosts exhibitions of Lithuanian and foreign art of the 20th-21st centuries, which can usually be viewed free of charge on the last Sunday of every month.
