Meteorological Department Issues Rain Alert for 31 Districts in Tamil Nadu

The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for light to moderate rain in 31 districts of Tamil Nadu within the next 3 hours. This announcement comes as heavy rains continue to batter various parts of the state due to the Northeast Monsoon.

In a notification issued by the Chennai Meteorological Department, it was stated that there is a possibility of rain in districts including Vellore, Ranipet, Tirupattur Thiruvallur, Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram, and Chennai. Additionally, Thiruvannamalai, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Kallakurichi, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, and Tiruvarur districts are also likely to receive rain within the next 3 hours.

Furthermore, the districts of Thanjavur, Pudukottai, Ariyalur, Perambalur, Trichy, and Karur are expected to experience moderate rainfall. The alert also extends to Namakkal, Salem, Dharmapuri, Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Thenkasi, Virudhunagar, Theni, Dindigul, Coimbatore, and Nilgiri districts.

Residents in these areas are advised to take necessary precautions and stay updated with the latest weather forecasts as the rains are expected to continue in the coming days.
