As “The Athletic” reports, Miami will probably be forced to sell players or reduce salaries in the next few weeks. Background: The club must meet the roster requirements for the 2024 MLS season.
Key players such as Gregore, Jean Mota, DeAndre Yedlin, Robert Taylor, Sergii Kryvstov and Corentin Jean are reportedly available for transfer or swap.

One thing is certain: The MLS has not yet announced any rules and regulations for the squad for the 2024 season. In 2023, the salary budget for the squad was just under 4.8 million euros.
To understand: Every MLS team is allowed to start the season with three “Designated Players”. These are players who are outside the salary cap. In addition, allocation funds such as “Targeted Allocation Money (TAM)” and “General Allocation Money (GAM)” give clubs further opportunities to pay their players more than is actually possible. The exact amount of allocation funds required by Inter Miami is unknown. It is uncertain how much the club has left over from previous years or can borrow for the future.
But: A high-ranking official gave “The Athletic” an insight into the team’s finances: “They are finished. Trust me.”
