Liverpool 1-4: They got past London and remained top

by time news

Liverpool had little trouble in west London as they beat Brentford 4-1 to stay top of the Premier League. Three forced changes for Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool had an easy passage to London, as they easily beat Brentford at home 4-1 for the 25th matchday of the Premier League. The Merseyside side took the lead in the 35th minute through Darwin Nunez, which was also the score of the first half.

McAllister in the 55th minute and Salah in the 68th minute laid the foundations for the three points. Toni made it 3-1 in the 75th minute and Hakpo set up the final score.

The Reds, of course, left with injury problems, as Klopp made three forced changes.

The match

The first half hour of the match was very even and both teams had their moments to find the net, with Brentford having Toni as the main exponent of their attacking efforts and Liverpool having two good moments with Bradley and Zota.

The goal looked to be a matter of time and eventually Klopp’s men found it first through a swift counter-attack, with Zota feeding Nunez with a superb header and the Uruguayan forward coming up against Flecken to finish with a masterful lob. from the height of the large area (0-1).

With this score, the two teams went to the dressing room for the break, however, despite their lead, the Reds were not happy, after losing Jones and Zota (he left on a stretcher) to injuries within a few minutes, while the start of the second half brought and third forced change for the guests, Hakpo instead of Nunes!

Despite the injury shock, Liverpool came into the second half better and redeemed their superiority with another goal. In the 51st minute, Salah missed a unique four-four with the opposing keeper, but four minutes later he provided a seminal assist for McAllister, with the Argentine avoiding an opponent with a dribble and defeating Flecken with a smart placement (0-2).

Salah didn’t stop there, however, in his reappearance with Liverpool after January 1st, but in the 68th minute he was anointed a scorer, when he executed a cool diagonal shot past the London goalkeeper to make it 3-0 for the visitors.

Brentford showed their composure and pulled one back in the 75th minute, but Liverpool regained the lead with Hakpo in the 86th minute setting up the final score. In the final, he had the chance for a fifth goal with Van Dijk, but his header stopped on the post.
