President Lula (PT) resumed face-to-face meetings on Monday (23) at the Planalto Palace after a period of recovery from hip and eyelid surgeries. The PT leader received the British musician Roger Waters, former member of Pink Floyd.
On his social networks, Lula recalled that Waters tried to visit him in Curitiba when the current president was detained at the headquarters of the Federal Police. “Five years ago, he tried to visit me in Curitiba and was prevented. Today, when he returns to Brazil, we meet in the presidential office of the Planalto Palace. #WishYouWereHere,” the president wrote, referring to the Pink Floyd song. The musician will perform a series of presentations in Brazil starting this Tuesday (24), in Brasilia.
According to a statement from the Secom (Secretariat of Social Communication of the Presidency), the president and Roger Waters talked about politics and music. The president would have highlighted “the importance of such a famous and relevant artist not ceasing to have conscience and express himself politically.”
