The work of the checkpoint “Kamenny Log” (“Medininkai”) has been resumed. This was reported on July 9 by the press service of the State Border Committee of Belarus.

At 21.00, the registration of persons and vehicles at the checkpoint “Kamenny Log” (adjacent to the Lithuanian checkpoint “Medininkai”) was resumed in full.

The State Customs Committee (SCC) added that the line of trucks, registered on the Belarusian side and waiting to enter Lithuania, is currently more than 300 trucks.

“Belarusian customs recommends choosing alternative routes across the Belarusian-Lithuanian border until the situation at the Kamenny Log checkpoint is completely normalized,” the State Customs Committee said.

Recall that the Medininkai checkpoint was closed by the Lithuanian side “for security purposes” at 13.00 on July 8.

“It was decided to temporarily close the state border, as the Belarusian authorities refused to accept a Pakistani citizen who tried to enter Lithuania with forged documents,” said Giedrius Mishutis.

A Pakistani tried to enter Lithuania on July 7 on a Minsk-Vilnius shuttle bus, presenting fake documents for verification – a Romanian identity card and a Romanian driver’s license. In such cases, a denial of entry is issued, and the person is returned to the country from which he arrived.

The State Border Committee of Belarus stated that “Lithuania uses international communication channels for blackmail.” They also stated that “the man refused to leave the territory of Lithuania and remained at the Lithuanian border post.”
