Speech by Mikas Iatridis to the Parliament on the reform of the Tax Procedure Code:

“The government has committed to the Greek people to create a state that is friendlier to the citizen, a state that is less bureaucratic, more flexible. A state which the citizen will feel next to him as an ally. This is the most important commitment of the New Democracy and this commitment we do everything possible to make it a reality, every day” emphasized Mika Iatridis in her speech to the Parliament on the Ministry of Finance’s Bill “Tax Procedure Code and other provisions ».

In the debate in the Plenary, the Deputy General Secretary of the Parliamentary Group of the ND. referred to the basic provisions of the bill, which, among others, include:

Automating the preparation and submission of tax returns for one million citizens. The abolition of the obligation to present books (mainly for ambitious and small businesses). The digitization of citizens’ communication with AADE and the consequent abolition of traditional mail. The fastest issuance of tax information, through interoperability between State agencies.

Furthermore, a specific time frame is provided for tax audits. It becomes necessary to notify the act of determining the tax within the five years provided for the statute of limitations. The settlement of arrangements with the tax administration and rationalization of rules concerning their possible loss is promoted.

Finally, Mika Iatridis also referred to the relevant provision for the reduction of relevant fines by 50% for the improper use of POS for islands with a population of less than 3100 inhabitants, except for those designated as touristic.
