In terms of political dialogue, the last year was notably marked by the visit of Secretary of State Antony Blinken to Rabat in March 2022. “We support His Majesty the King’s ambitious reform program aimed at strengthening Moroccan institutions “said the US Secretary of State on this occasion. Last year also saw the visit of Blinken’s deputy, Wendy Sherman, in the same month, then the Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, Victoria Nuland, in May 2022, and more recently, last January, the Deputy Under-Secretary of State for International Organizations Affairs, Michèle Sisson.

Added to this are the two visits to Morocco by the CEO of the Millennium Challenge Corporation, last week and previously, in July 2022, at the head of a large American economic delegation. In December 2022, the coordinator for the MENA region at the National Security Council reporting to the White House, Brett McGurk, also visited Rabat for high-level consultations.
