Nava Kerala Yatra has been marred by violence and clashes between political party workers. The police have registered a significant number of cases against UDF activists who showed black flags to the Chief Minister during the yatra. However, there are very few cases registered against CPM activists who reportedly beat up the protestors, often in the presence of the police.

From Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram, instances of UDF activists being brutally beaten up by CPM workers have been reported, with the police often being mere spectators. Many complaints have not been prosecuted, raising concerns about the impartiality of law enforcement in the state.

In a shocking incident, the Chief Minister’s gunman allegedly broke protocol and thrashed Youth Congress workers who showed black flags in Alappuzha. Despite this, the police have not yet taken action against the gunman, leading to further questions about the government’s commitment to justice.

The disparity in the number of cases is also concerning, with 256 cases registered against UDF workers, as opposed to only 21 against CPM workers and 18 against BJP members who showed black flags. This stark contrast in the number of cases raises questions about fair treatment under the law.

Overall, a total of 307 cases have been registered, including against policemen and members of other organizations. The unequal distribution of these cases has sparked outrage and calls for a more just and equitable approach to law enforcement in Kerala.
