Apple has announced the date for its developer conference WWDC. The focus should not only be on new operating systems.

This year’s Apple developer conference WWDC (Worldwide Developer Conference) will take place from June 10th to 14th. The company announced this on Tuesday evening. The event is likely to be about the future of iOS and macOS. Apple could also introduce new AI functions and new hardware.

In addition to iOS and macOS, there will probably also be new versions of iPadOS, watchOS, tvOS and visionOS. As usual, the operating systems will be released later in the year. In addition, major innovations are expected for the iPhone, such as a more flexible home screen and more intensive integration of AI functions.

New hardware could also be on the agenda. Apple has not yet equipped the Mac Studio, Mac mini and Mac Pro desktop devices with its new M3 chip generation. That could change at WWDC 2024.

Event will be broadcast live

This year too, the event will mainly be seen online, and Apple is also inviting people to a special opening event in Apple Park – this is a small on-site event.

“We’re excited to connect with developers from around the world for an exceptional week focused on technology and community,” said Susan Prescott, vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations at Apple.

However, the relationship with the developer network in particular is likely to be a challenge this year: complaints about frustrating app rejections and Apple’s new fee model in Europe are causing dissatisfaction.

Regardless, this year’s WWDC promises a thrilling time full of innovations for Apple users worldwide – not least in Germany.
