Received at this year’s European Newspaper Awards Friday seven prizes in the categories “Cover and Coverstory” with the edition for the anniversary of the racist attack in Hanau, “News Pages – Corona Crisis” with an adaptation of the famous painting “The Scream” by Edvard Munch and Edward Hopper’s “Nighthawks” in the Categories “Sectional Front Pages”, “Visual Storytelling” and “Illustration” as well as a “Special Edition” with our large year-end 2020 edition on the topic of “Dare to be more natural”.
The renowned competition for newspaper design has been organized by newspaper designer Norbert Küpper since 1998 and aims to improve the exchange of information on newspaper design and conception within Europe and to contribute to new, creative solutions. A total of 161 newspapers from 24 countries took part in the 23rd European Newspaper Award, with more than 4,000 entries in the 20 categories of the competition. This makes it one of the largest newspaper design competitions in the world.
