by time news

The German judicial authority has granted Italy the extradition of Rassoul Bissoultanov, Chechen believed to be one of the three responsible for the murder of Niccolò Ciatti, the 22-year-old from Scandicci (Florence) beaten to death outside a nightclub in Lloret de Mar, Spain, on 13 August 2017. This was announced in a note by the Foreign Ministry, expressing “great satisfaction“. Bissoultanov, a Russian citizen of Chechen origin, has 28 years and is a wrestling athlete. According to the indictment it was he who launched the head kick fatal result for the Italian boy.

Already arrested and sent to trial in Spain, the Chechen had been released from prison due to the expiry of the terms in recent months. The extradition granted by Germany follows a European arrest warrant issued by the Rome Prosecutor’s Office in 2020, on the basis of which the German police arrested Bissoultanov the 3 August last in its own territory. “The constant contacts of the Embassies in Berlin and Madrid with their respective local authorities have made it possible to achieve this important result, which is essential to prevent the accused from escaping justice”, concludes the note from the Farnesina.
