No more duets round the tree; Laila says

by time news

CHENNAI: After 16 years in Tamil, Laila is back to acting with ‘Sardaar’. He said: I stopped acting in cinema after marriage. She had to shoulder many responsibilities including being a good wife, a good daughter-in-law, a good mother. As my husband became a PC for business, I started taking care of family responsibilities. Now my sons are old enough to take care of themselves. Due to this, I have come to act in cinema again. I asked for stories for my re-entry. Nothing is set.
The young heroes got roles like mother, sister and sister-in-law. Although I can act like that, I expected the character to be new in a re-entry film.

Then Karthi’s ‘Sardaar’ film opportunity came. Being a anti-social gang fighter for my son, I immediately agreed. The film industry has changed a lot today. Gone are the days of singing duets around the tree. Now the hero is a good story for the film. People and fans are very welcoming and enjoy very different stories. Accordingly, today’s youth are also telling stories in new storylines and from very different angles. I look forward to working with them.
