Thiruvananthapuram: There is a chance of heavy rain at isolated places in the state today. Orange alert has been declared in Kannur and Kasaragod districts today. Yellow alert is also in five districts from Thrissur to Wayanad. Be very careful in hilly areas.

Fishermen should not go out to sea due to strong winds. The rain was caused by a cyclone off the Comorin coast and strong westerly winds. A low pressure area is likely to form over the Bay of Bengal in the next few hours, the Meteorological Center has warned.
