Palestinian Christian leader says he will join the struggle for the liberation of Palestine and protect the Masjid al-Aqsa.

Father Manuel Musallam, a Palestinian Christian leader and head of the Jerusalem Justice and Party Organization, has said that Christians will fight to the death with Muslims to protect the Al-Aqsa Mosque from Israeli occupation. He said the key to Aqsa would never be handed over to the occupying forces.

Father Manuel’s statement came amid attempts by Israeli Jewish organizations to storm the Masjid al – Aqsa during the Passover holidays. He said Christians would fight to protect the Aqsa Mosque in Old Jerusalem and Muslims to fight for the protection of the Holy Sepulcher Church.

“We will die with all our might to protect the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Holy Sepulcher Church in the old city of Jerusalem,” he said. He added that the atrocities committed by Jewish settlers in Aqsa, with the help of the Israeli army, were part of an attempt to demolish the mosque and build a synagogue there, adding that silence at this time would destroy their very right to protect Aqsa in the future.

‘Christians will stand up for the protection of the mosque and Muslims for the protection of the church. We are all of the same nation. Our culture is one. ‘Al-Aqsa calls you. Its eyes fill. That is why it should not fail, “said Father Manuel.
