BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has extended his sincere greetings and congratulations to all the countrymen and expatriate Bangladeshis on the occasion of the Great Independence and National Day.
On the occasion of Independence and National Day, he expressed his wishes in a message on Tuesday (March 26).
Mirza Fakhrul said, on this great day, I respectfully remember the herald of independence, the martyred President Ziaur Rahman Bir Uttam, the commander of Z Force in the liberation war; In 1971, the entire nation jumped into the death war of liberation in response to his call. Deep respect to all the national leaders who have made outstanding contribution to the country and nation.
He said that this nation bound by the chain of freedom has continued the movement for the realization of rights since the beginning. The hopes and aspirations with which the people of the country entered the war of independence in 1971, the hopes of the people have not been fulfilled even today.
BNP Secretary General said that domestic and foreign conspirators are still engaged in multifaceted conspiracies to endanger the independence and sovereignty of the country. The people are ultimately disempowered by banishing fair elections forever. Anarchy has been established in the country with the extreme rise of fascism. The conspirators have repeatedly tried to jeopardize the journey of multi-party democracy that started with the hands of President Shahid Ziaur Rahman. But the uncompromising leader Khaleda Zia repeatedly risked her life to save the endangered democracy, which today has been destroyed by authoritarian fascism in the name of democracy.
Stating that the uncompromising leader of democracy, Begum Zia, has been detained in a false case, Fakhrul said, the acting chairman of BNP, Tariq Rahman, a leader of the young generation, has been exiled in a false case. About 50 lakh BNP leaders and activists are being inhumanely harassed through disappearances, murders, false cases, torture and persecution. The state has been turned into a terrorist state.
He said that the country has been turned into a failed state through unprecedented corruption, unlimited oppression and misrule. Therefore, on this great day, I am calling on all the patriotic people, regardless of party affiliation, to build a people’s democratic state by building a mass movement in Durbar and eliminating these anti-national and anti-democratic forces. Welfare state should be built through equality, human values and social justice.
