Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said, motivated by the call of Bangabandhu, the policemen of Rajarbagh resisted against the Pakistani invading forces. The Bengali nation will never forget their sacrifice.

He said these things to the questions of journalists after paying tribute to the martyred policemen at Rajarbagh Police Lines on Tuesday (March 26) morning.

He said that the resistance put up by the policemen at Rajarbagh on 25th March 1971 at Kalrat will never be forgotten and due to their brave resistance, the Pakistani forces were forced to retreat. Although many policemen had to lose their lives while confronting the Pakistani forces that day.

Earlier in the morning, the Home Minister paid tribute by laying flowers at the police memorial. Later IGP Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun paid tribute on behalf of the police.

Secretary of Public Security Department of Home Ministry, Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Habibur Rahman, Chief of Special Branch of Police Monirul Islam and other officials were present at this time.
