To celebrate Pongal festival, the Tamil Nadu Government will give a Pongal gift package of one Paneer whole sugarcane, 1 kg of sweet rice, 1 kg of sugar and Rs.1000 through the ration shops operating under the public distribution scheme to the family card holders who receive rice and the Sri Lankan Tamil Rehabilitation Camp family card holders. 3 lakh 96 thousand 403 cardholders are given Pongal gift packages in 776 ration shops in Ramanathapuram district. To avoid crowding, token will be distributed in respective ration shops area wise. The detailed list will be announced in the concerned ration shops.
Family card holders must bring clothes bag to receive Pongal gift of sweet rice and sugar. Family cardholders can collect the Pongal gift package on their allotted days wearing face mask and maintaining social distance.
