In a recent decision, a subsection of the Council of State has ordered the President of the Republic, Gustavo Petro, to respond within a maximum period of 48 hours to the right of petition presented by Rafael Pardo and Eduardo Díaz Uribe.

The right to petition in question demands that President Petro recant having described the crop substitution policy of the previous government, headed by Juan Manuel Santos, as a “den of corruption.”

As expressed in the document issued by the subsection, the Chamber will protect the fundamental right of petition of the plaintiffs and orders the Presidency of the Republic to respond to the request within the established period, refraining from analyzing the possible impact on the rights to honor. and the good name.
