“I visited Hilmi Özen, the founder, chief director and actor of the Cyprus Turkish State Theatre, and the great master who touched our hearts with the Voice of the Mujahideen program on Bayrak Radio during the National Struggle, at his home and listened to his memories with our Founding President Rauf Raif Denktaş. We had intimate conversations about life.
I wish a life full of health and peace to Hilmi Özen, a true veteran of the Turkish Cypriot Theatre, who has earned the respect of all of us with his gentlemanly, perfect Turkish and diction, his wife Deniz Hanım, their daughter Meliz Erken and his son-in-law Ertan Biri.
