Puma announced the suspension of activities in Russia

The German company Puma announced the termination of the supply of products to Russia and the suspension of the work of its stores on its territory due to a special military operation in Ukraine, the company’s press service reports on its Twitter account.

“We have temporarily stopped deliveries of our products to Russia,” the press service stressed. The report says that the company has suspended the contract with the Russian Basketball Federation (RBF). Puma has also pledged to ensure that all of its employees in Ukraine and their families move to the western part of the country.

On March 1, the German company Adidas suspended cooperation with the Russian Football Union (RFU) for a similar reason. Adidas has been the official technical partner of the RFU since 2008, last year the contract was extended for another five years.

On the same day, the American sporting goods manufacturer Nike stopped shipping products to Russia.

The United States, the European Union, Great Britain and a number of other countries have imposed sanctions against Russia in response to the military operation in Ukraine. Against the backdrop of Western sanctions, deliveries to Russia have been suspended by a number of companies from the technology and other sectors, including Apple, Microsoft, Ericsson, Siemens, Nokia, Canon, and others.
