jpnn.comMANOKWARI – West Papua Regional Police deployed 318 personnel to secure the plenary meeting for the recapitulation of vote results in the 2024 provincial elections.

The recapitulation plenary was held at the Husni Kamil Manik Hall of the West Papua General Election Commission (KPU), Manokwari, Saturday (9/3).

Head of Public Relations of the West Papua Regional Police, Commissioner Ongky Isgunawan, said that hundreds of personnel securing the recapitulation of election results were a combination of the Samapta Directorate, Mobile Brigade Unit and members of the Manokwari Police.

“There are 318 personnel temporarily securing the vote recapitulation,” said Ongky.

The police appealed to all political parties participating in the 2024 elections, legislative candidates and sympathizers to maintain the security situation to support the smooth recapitulation of votes.

The police will take firm action if there are individuals who deliberately create noise to hinder the recapitulation of the election results.

“If there are election participants who do not agree with the results of the plenary, please take the route in accordance with the provisions,” said Ongky.

Chairman of the KPU for West Papua Province, Paskalis Semunya, said that the deadline for holding the plenary recapitulation of votes at the provincial level was 2 days, from Saturday to Sunday (10/3).

Hundreds of police personnel from the West Papua Regional Police supervised the election vote recapitulation process.
