The popular video game series “Ratchet & Clank” is back. “Rift Apart” appears exclusively for the Playstation 5 and makes impressive use of the possibilities of the new console. In addition to the elaborate graphics, there are still many details to discover.
“Rift Apart” is the first really new title in the platform shooter series “Ratchet & Clank” in eight years – the predecessor “Into The Nexus” came in 2013 for the Playstation 3.
A lot has happened technically since then: The graphics are more detailed than ever and use the computing power of the Playstation 5. Even the fur of the hairy main character Ratchet was lavishly animated.
At the beginning of the game, Clank presents the repaired Dimensionator, which can open paths in parallel universes. Instead of Held Ratchet, however, this ends up with the villain Dr. Nefarious. This triggers cracks in the space-time continuum – and chaos begins.
“Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart”: Comprehensive story with lots of action
Separated from buddy Ratchet, Clank ends up with the new game character Rivet, who is a female counterpart to Ratchet. In the course of the game you can switch between the different dimensions, for example to solve puzzles that bring the game characters back together. Also with a variety of weapons is fought again, which always bring a lot of action.
“Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart” combines a comprehensive story with lots of action. The game also picks up newbies well and slowly increases the level of difficulty over the course of the game.
In addition to the elaborate graphics, it is particularly worth seeing: the many puzzles and all the loving details of the game world that are there to be discovered.
“Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart” is available exclusively for the Playstation 5 and costs around 70 euros.
