Roscosmos enterprises are preparing to launch conveyor production of satellites. This will make it possible to increase the volume of Russian satellites to 2 thousand by 2036, according to materials for a meeting of President Vladimir Putin at the Energia rocket and space corporation.

“The implementation of these and other measures will make it possible by 2036 to deploy more than two thousand new spacecraft of various types in various orbits,” the materials say (quoted from “RIA Novosti»).

It is noted that since September 7, the Krasnoyarsk enterprise “Reshetnev” has been producing satellites for data transmission “Marathon-IoT” as part of the “Sphere” project. It is planned to produce several satellites per week and further use this experience to scale production.

Also at the Lavochkin NPO enterprise they are developing a project for the mass production of small spacecraft. The Yaroslavl Radio Plant, which is part of it, is switching to conveyor production of standardized equipment for new spacecraft.

Earlier, the general director of Roscosmos announced the need to increase the number of Russian spacecraft in orbit to at least 1-2 thousand by 2030. As of June 2023, there were 225 Russian satellites in orbit. To achieve the goal set by the CEO, it is necessary to produce 250 satellites per year by 2025, and one satellite per day by 2030.
