Rostec will develop processors for schools, universities and hospitals

Rostec will develop the first domestic processor of a new generation on the open architecture RISC-V for computers and servers – it will work on it together with the developer of data storage systems and servers Yadro, a member of ICS Holding, Alisher Usmanov, representatives of the vendor told Vedomosti and state corporations.

New processors should be ready by 2025; a total of RUB 27.8 billion will be spent on their development. 18 billion will be allocated by anchor customers (Rostec and its subsidiary National Technologies), 9.8 billion are planned to be received from the federal budget, they noted. By 2025, these processors are planned to equip computer equipment operating in the structures of Rostec, as well as in the subordinate institutions of the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health. In 2025, the organizers of the project plan to sell 60,000 computers and servers based on new processors – in monetary terms, sales should amount to 7 billion rubles, according to its business plan.
