The press service of the Platform of the National Technology Initiative (NTI) told RT that Russian scientists have created a technology that allows you to record and recreate dreams using a neuro-headset.
It is specified that the Russians will be able to take advantage of this development as early as 2025. The experts added that dreams come off in the REM phase, accompanied by high brain activity.
“Most likely, we will not be able to recreate dreams to the smallest detail, but we will succeed in defining the category: unpleasant, pleasant, nightmare and the like. The user will be able to understand their feelings from sleep, ”said Vladimir Konyshev, head of the MIPT neuro-robotics laboratory.
The NTI reported that experiments in the field of reconstructing images that arise in the brain began back in 2019. The participants of the experiment were shown various videos – waterfalls, races, people’s faces, and at the same time they recorded an electroencephalogram (EEG).
After the experiment, it was possible to find out that the frequency characteristics of the wave activity (spectra) of the EEG differ for different categories of videos. The image accuracy was 90 percent.
