Sensex down 187 points | Sensex ends with 187 points falls

Mumbai: Indian stocks closed lower on Thursday. The Sensex was down 187 points (0.31 per cent) at 60,858. Meanwhile, the NSE Nifty was down 57 points (0.32 per cent) at 18,107.

Stock markets opened Thursday’s trade with a 100-point decline and quickly moved lower. As of 10:03 am, the Sensex was down 235.99 points at 60,809.75. The NSE Nifty was down 61.05 points at 18,104.30.

Factors such as unfavorable global environment, recession fears created by US economic data, decline in consumer and metal stocks led to today’s decline in Indian stock markets. As a result, it changed from a profit for two days to a loss today. Nifty hit a one-day high of 100 points and Sensex 300 points during trade.

The Sensex fell 187.31 points to close at 60,858.43 by the end of trading hours. At the same time, Nifty fell 57.50 points to close at 18,107.85.

In terms of individual stocks, Tata Steel, L&T, HDFC and Wipro were higher. M&M, Infosys, State Bank of India, Nestlé India, ITC, Hindustan Unilever, Titan Company, Kodak Mahindra Bank, Tata Motors, Asian Paints were the losers.
