President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has said that the Commission has named the former President, Prime Minister and Cabinet as criminals in connection with the attack that took place during the Easter festival in Sri Lanka in 2019. He also said that the commission appointed during the last regime was blaming the former president and others. Rajapakse said the commission’s recommendations would be tabled in parliament, while judges and police would be tasked with taking action.
He also noted that there is a majority needed to pass legislation to bring the accused before the courts. He said this while addressing the opening of the bridge named as Kalyani Pon Gateway which is set up with high technology.
