On the 17th of Adar II 2008 March 24, 2008, the Knesset passed the “Brain-Respiratory Death Law 2008”. The law entered into force at the beginning of June 2009.

The law in question, regulates for the first time (in primary legislation), the main principles and procedures required for determining brain-respiratory death in Israel.
