The incident took place while journalists Nikella Meddy and Rachel Kim, who had presented the news just before, were speaking to Alyssa live. In the video, Alyssa faints and falls from her chair before she starts speaking. In the video, Nickella and Rachel, who noticed that Alyssa had fallen down, suddenly ran from their seats, saying that it was time for a break.

The program that Alyssa was supposed to present could not be aired later. Another program was being aired instead. A short time later, CBS Los Angeles vice president and news director Mike Dello Stritto gave an update on Alyssa’s health. “Our colleague Alyssa Carlson collapsed during the 7 o’clock news this morning. I want to thank the colleagues who took immediate action to get Alisa to the hospital. Alyssa is currently being treated at the hospital. Hopefully we will hear good news before too long. We pray for Alyssa’s speedy recovery”, said Mike Dello.

Alyssa herself later announced through social media that she was recovering. Alyssa thanked everyone who called and texted for information and comforted her.

Alyssa had a similar experience while presenting a weather report in 2014. They vomited while presenting the news that day. Alyssa was later found to have a hole in her heart valve.
