Then from Shanghai: Tesla number four, the Model Y

Elon Musk bursts the collar. Because of the delays on the construction site in Germany, the new model comes from Shanghai instead of Berlin.
Tesla will launch its new compact Model Y on the German market in August. The manufacturer of electric cars actually wanted to wait until its factory in Grünheide near Berlin was completed and the vehicles would be built there.
But the delays on the Berlin construction site have now apparently led to the fact that company boss Elon Musk broke the collar. The cars are now being imported from the plant in Shanghai. Some of the Model 3s that are sold in this country also come from this factory.
It is said that Tesla has succeeded in freeing up additional capacity in China through greater efficiency, which can now be used for delivery to Europe. The Model Y is initially only being delivered in the Long Range version in Germany, the performance variant is to follow at the end of the year.
As a long range, the Tesla has a range of 500 kilometers according to the WLTP standard. The starting price including funding is around 55,000 euros.
