The Norwegian government has expelled 15 Russian diplomats accused of gathering intelligence.
Russian diplomats were accused of gathering intelligence within days of the start of the Ukraine-Russia war in February last year.
As a result, many countries began to ban Russian embassies in their countries. And some countries refused to issue passports to them.
Dismissal of officers
In this case, consular officers working at the Russian embassy in Oslo, the capital of Norway, a neighbor of Russia, were accused of gathering intelligence for their country.
As Norway considered this as a great threat to the security of their country, investigations were also conducted with the relevant officials.
Intelligence gathering
Norway has concluded that their activities are incompatible with diplomatic activities in this investigation as well.
Following this, it has been decided to expel 15 Russian embassy officials in Norway.
