Jair Bolsonaro’s former assistant, Mauro Cid, will not be able to have any kind of contact with the former president of Brazil or the former first lady, Michelle Bolsonaro, while investigations are underway involving them linked to the alleged embezzlement of gifts from foreign governments and the coup acts of January 8. This was determined by Justice in the last hours.

The decision was made by Alexandre de Moraes, a judge of the Federal Supreme Court, in a restriction that also includes the possibility of Mauro Cid contacting his wife, Gabriela Cid, and other former assistants.

The former assistant is detained in Brasilia due to the investigation of the alleged fraud to issue false vaccination certificates against Covid-19 and allow anti-vaxxers to enter the United States with Bolsonaro and his entourage, according to the Brazilian Agency.

Judge Moraes relied on a Federal Police report that cites conversations found in the tests carried out on Cid’s cell phone, in which messages were found with speeches that would encourage anti-democratic acts against the result of the 2022 presidential elections, which gave the victory to Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

Before this decision, Cid testified before the Federal Police (PF) about the visit that the hacker Walter Delgatti would have made last year to then-President Bolsonaro, at the Alvorada Palace, during the electoral period.

On August 17, the hacker revealed before a commission of the Brazilian Congress that the former president had promised him a pardon last year. It was after having hired him to simulate fraud with electronic ballot boxes, discredit electoral justice and create a political scenario in order to ignore Lula’s victory.
