The French midfielder was injured during the Espoirs’ last match against Georgia.
The diagnosis of the injury to the left knee of Lyon midfielder Johann Lepenant, contracted with the French U21 team against Austria (0-2) on Friday, has been postponed for 15 days, Olympique Lyonnais announced on Monday.
“After having passed various radiological and clinical examinations, the international midfielder will have to undergo a new medical assessment in 15 days in order to establish a more precise diagnosis (…) and thus determine the duration of his unavailability”, specified the ‘OL in a press release.
Released at the start of the match against the Austrians, Lepenant (21), who no longer plays for a club, took these first exams Monday morning in Lyon. The OL and Bleuets medical staff suspect a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament of the knee.
