Recall that 66 of our readers took part in it, sending dozens of names. The jury from NPP “Zvezda” selected the best of the seven options that reached the final. It turned out to be “Lunny”, proposed by Dmitry Mnev from Pushkino near Moscow.

About himself, Dmitry Evgenievich wrote to us the following: “I am a pensioner, I began my working biography in Korolev, by distribution from the Moscow Institute of Electronic Engineering (MIEM). Then – evening language, foreign trade academy and work in a foreign trade association. Dmitry Evgenievich explained his choice of name for the lunar space suit as follows: “All previous names did not reveal the essence of the project. This is a tribute to the times. Now you can name the suit according to the scope. Dmitry Mnev asked to send him prizes by parcel. We sent a porcelain figurine of an astronaut from Gzhel to Pushkino, which, as promised, was provided for the winner at Zvezda Research and Production Enterprise, a branded glass with a glass holder from MK, a T-shirt, a cap and other souvenirs with the logo of our newspaper.

The second prize was given to Natalia Pashkova by profession – systems engineer, computer specialist, worked at the Research Institute of Instrument Engineering (now the Russian Space Systems), then – at the Institute for Advanced Studies of Roshydromet. Today she is a teacher at the Moscow Hydrometeorological College in Balashikha. Its name “Dobrynya” was recognized as the best by a strict reader’s jury (voting took place on the newspaper’s website and in the telegram channel). “Of the three heroes, Dobrynya has always been the closest to me,” Natalia explained her choice. – The plowman, a hard worker, left the plow and went to defend the Russian land from enemies. Not like Ilya Muromets, who, for 33 years of sitting on the stove, all the muscles should have atrophied. Dobrynya Nikitich is real, reliable, modest. Kindness is something we all lack today.” Despite the fact that the NPP Zvezda selected another, the above-mentioned option for their spacesuit, they decided to reward Natalia anyway – they gave her exactly the same cosmonaut as Dmitry Mnev.

Appeared in our competition and the third nominee, or rather the nominees. These are the guys of the 10th physical and mathematical class from the “simple rural school” No. 2 of the Vikulovsky district of the Tyumen region, who jointly proposed the name “Revenge” for the spacesuit. We were informed about this by their physics teacher Andrei Mezenov, and also that the name was invented by Denis Trinkunas, and his classmates supported him. In early April, Denis and his classmates took part in the 15th anniversary conference of high school and middle school students “On the Way to Discoveries”. Students from Ishim, Tobolsk, Tyumen took part in it with their projects. On the eve of Cosmonautics Day, Denis Trinkunas completed his project by launching a rocket model with a solid propellant engine. In his section “Physics” with this project “Rocket Model” Denis took an honorable second place. “Their “Revenge” immediately sunk into our souls, but not as a name for a spacesuit, but as a name for our entire lunar project,” Sergey Pozdnyakov, general director of NPP Zvezda, told us. According to him, a parcel with a letter of thanks from Zvezda, additional prizes and souvenirs is already being sent to the children in a distant village.

We thank all the participants for their support of the competition and especially congratulate the winners. I would like to wish all of us that our “Lunny” be successful, but after it we will prepare for a new competition – for the best name for a spacesuit that will fly to Mars.
