Colombo: The protest against the government in Sri Lanka ended yesterday after 123 days.

Millions of people have been holding protests demanding the resignation of President Gotabaya Rajapakse after the rise in prices in Sri Lanka has not been brought under control.

On April 9, they set up tents in front of the President’s House in the capital Colombo and coordinated the protests. President Gotabaya Rajapakse, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse and all his brothers left power due to the upsurge of this protest.

People did not stop their struggle even after that. They continued their struggle against the newly appointed president Ranil.

A few days ago, the soldiers forcibly evicted the protesters from the presidential palace. It received international condemnation. The government also ordered the protesters to leave by August 5. But the protestors filed a case in court against this. In this situation, the protestors announced yesterday that they will formally end the empty face protest.

They also started work on getting out of the area. With this, the people’s struggle against the Sri Lankan government has come to an end after 123 days.
