In Kamchatka, according to Avialesokhrana, the area of ​​forest-tundra fires in the Penzhinsky district (the northernmost) of the region has grown by almost 4 thousand hectares over the past 24 hours, to 112.7 thousand hectares. So, 74 km from the village of Talovka, a fire is raging on an area of ​​50.5 thousand hectares (with an increase of 2.6 thousand hectares per day). 23 km from the same village in the other direction, another large hearth is burning on an area of ​​44.4 thousand hectares. Smoke is felt in a number of settlements. Since July 15, a special fire-prevention regime has been in effect in the Penzhinsky region.

According to the Roshydromet department and the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Sakhalin region, on Friday there is a high probability of fires in Smirnykhovsky, Dolinsky, Anivsky districts and near Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. Dry and hot weather with temperatures up to 30 ° C persists on the island for several weeks.
