The general meeting of the Russian Academy of Sciences began in the Great Hall of the Russian Academy of Sciences at Leninsky Prospekt, 32. In addition to the 970 members of the Academy, an unprecedented number of ministers, heads of other state academies and state corporations were present in the hall.
As guests of the meeting, RAS President Gennady Krasnikov introduced Presidential Aide Andrei Fursenko, Minister of Science and Education Valery Falkov, Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko, Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev, Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of the Russian Federation Irek Fayzullin, and head of the FMBA Veronika Skvortsova. Present at the meeting via videoconference are: Chairman of the Federation Council on Science and Education Liliya Gumerova, Head of the State Duma Committee on Science and Education Sergei Kabyshev, General Director of Roscosmos Yuri Borisov and President of the Academy of Arts Zurab Tsereteli. In addition, among the meeting participants are deputy ministers, directors of departments, chairmen of state corporations and state academies.
On the first day, academicians will hold a scientific session “The Russian Academy of Sciences in solving problems of scientific and technological development of Russia.” Scientists will present scientific reports on the development of microelectronic technologies, the role of universities in personnel training, trusted artificial intelligence, climate change issues, and the transformation of the world order.
On Wednesday, December 13, at the site of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the ceremony of awarding the UNESCO-Russia D.I. Mendeleev Prize in the field of fundamental sciences for 2022 will take place.
