Two are for passengers and one is for air freight

The government has appointed three Bulgarian airlines as carriers on the international air routes between Bulgaria and China.

“Compass Cargo Airlines” EOOD has been designated as the carrier of regular cargo flights on the lines Sofia-Shanghai-Sofia, Sofia-Zhengzhou-Sofia and Sofia¬-Shenzhen-Sofia with a total of up to seven frequencies per week.

The airlines “Bulgaria Air” AD and “Gulliver” EOOD are designated for the performance of regular passenger and combined transports on the air lines Sofia-Beijing-Sofia and Sofia-Shanghai-Sofia, with a total of up to four frequencies per week for the first carrier and up to three frequencies for the second.

The air routes are agreed with an air transport agreement between the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of Bulgaria and a Memorandum of Understanding between the aviation authorities of the two countries, effective from December 8, 2023. The operation of scheduled flights on the routes will create direct air connectivity between the Republic of Bulgaria and The People’s Republic of China will improve our country’s connectivity with the Far East. This will support the development of cooperation and open up new opportunities for the faster shipment of goods, as well as the realization of trips of citizens from both countries.
