The invention that will protect your car from flooding

by time news

Floods cause terrible damage to vehicles, homes and other property. But it is enough to suffer one of these mishaps to develop the best solutions. Thus was born ClimaGuard, a temporary, waterproof, military-grade protective shell; from the idea of Rachel Abrahamwho suffered the destruction of his car in one of these inclement weather, according to Autocasión.

When folded, ClimaGuard is a 20-pound plastic tarp that fits into a compact duffel bag. A single person can insure a vehicle in about ten minutes in a simple process much like putting on a conventional car cover. The only big difference is that it has to be parked on the canvas, to fully secure the car, as if we were vacuum packing it. The welded seams prevent water from getting under the zipper, and the zipper sits well above the vehicle’s waterline, so as long as the car isn’t buffeted by waves over 30 cm high, water will not enter.

Commuting shouldn’t be a problem either, as the ClimaGuard comes with anchor straps to secure the vehicle. If the owner wants to move his car before the flooding has subsided, Abraham maintains that the hovercar can be pushed with one hand.

Abrahan took it upon himself to find affordable materials and kept production costs as low as possible to keep the ClimaGuard at an affordable price and ensure that cars are safe from typhoons, hurricanes, extreme storms, floods of all kinds or even tsunamis.

Specifically, the casing is available in three sizes: compact sedan for $399 (341 euros), midsize sedan for $449 (384 euros) and large and midsize SUV for $479 (410 euros). It may not sound cheap, but the prices make the venue less expensive than the average $500 insurance excess, and a no-brainer when you consider the cost of time and expense to replace a damaged vehicle.
