What inspired Kadhy Touré to write “Transform Your Dreams Into Success”?
Time.news Editor (TNE): Welcome, everyone, to our interview segment! Today we have the pleasure of speaking with the talented Kadhy Touré, an actress, director, producer, and business manager who recently signed her first book, “Transform Your Dreams Into Success.” Kadhy, it’s a pleasure to have you with us today.
Kadhy Touré (KT): Thank you for having me! I’m excited to be here and share my journey with everyone.
TNE: You just launched your book at the 9th edition of the Sotigui Awards in Ouagadougou. What was that experience like for you?
KT: It was absolutely incredible! The Sotigui Awards celebrate African cinema, and to have my book launch coincide with such an important event felt like a full circle moment. Connecting with fellow artists and sharing insights about pursuing dreams made it even more special.
TNE: Your book, “Transform Your Dreams Into Success,” is divided into five chapters. Can you give us a brief overview of what readers can expect in those chapters?
KT: Certainly! Each chapter focuses on different aspects of turning dreams into reality. The first chapter addresses the importance of having a clear vision. The following chapters delve into practical steps like planning, overcoming obstacles, and maintaining motivation. I also share personal anecdotes and experiences from my career, hoping to inspire others to take action.
TNE: Those topics are incredibly relevant! You’re known for your work in films like “Marabout Chéri.” How did your experiences in the film industry shape the insights you share in your book?
KT: The film industry is a great metaphor for life. I’ve faced many challenges and setbacks—just like any dreamer. Through directing and producing, I’ve learned that creativity and resilience go hand-in-hand. Each project reminds me that success requires hard work, collaboration, and sometimes a leap of faith.
TNE: Speaking of challenges, what would you say is the biggest obstacle you faced while pursuing your career, and how did you overcome it?
KT: One of the biggest challenges I faced was the lack of representation and opportunities for women in film, especially in African cinema. I had to push through frustration and prove my worth through patience and perseverance. Creating my own opportunities, like directing my own projects, empowered me and opened doors for others as well.
TNE: That’s inspiring! As a business manager, how important do you think it is for artists to understand the business side of their career?
KT: It’s crucial! Many artists are passionate about their craft but often overlook the importance of understanding contracts, finances, and marketing. Knowledge of the business side allows creatives to advocate for themselves better and make informed decisions that can lead to long-term success.
TNE: You mentioned that part of your book includes motivational aspects. What message do you hope resonates the most with your readers?
KT: I want readers to understand that it’s never too late to pursue their dreams. Each person has their unique path, and embracing setbacks as learning experiences, rather than failures, is key. My goal is to empower readers to take that first step, no matter how daunting it may seem.
TNE: That’s a powerful message! Lastly, what advice would you give to someone looking to turn their dreams into success but unsure of where to start?
KT: Start by defining your dream clearly! Write it down, break it into smaller, manageable steps, and set deadlines. Surround yourself with supportive people, and don’t be afraid to seek mentorship. Above all, believe in yourself and stay persistent. Every small step counts!
TNE: Thank you, Kadhy! It’s been a pleasure discussing your book and insights into the world of dreams and success. We wish you all the best with “Transform Your Dreams Into Success”!
KT: Thank you so much! I appreciate the opportunity to share my story, and I hope it inspires many others.
