The Minister of Electricity, Ziad Ali Fadel, announced today, Monday, the activation of a stalled project in the energy sector concluded with a Finnish company.
The media office of the Minister of Electricity said in a statement received by the (INA): “The Minister of Electricity met in his office with officials of the Finnish company Wartsila, which specializes in energy projects, in the presence of the Finnish Ambassador to Iraq, Anu Saarila.”
He explained, “During the meeting, they discussed activating the contract concluded between the Ministry of Electricity and the Finnish company in 2019, the implementation of which has been delayed until today,” pointing out, “The Minister stressed the development of a thoughtful road map to activate the contents of the contract, which stipulates the rehabilitation and maintenance of the station’s engines.” Samarra diesel with a capacity of 340 megawatts in two stages.
The statement added, “It was agreed that experts from the company would visit the station to review the current situation and provide a comprehensive presentation on the maintenance work and the time required to complete the work.”
