Münster Many people know Münster from the TV series “Tatort”. When the taciturn chief inspector Thiel pursues a suspect by bike on the Prinzipalmarkt and the eloquent coroner Boerne lives out his bourgeois bourgeois attitude at the scene of the murder, the audience ratings are regularly record-breaking.
In the show, Münster appears provincial and prosperous, the locals – quite a few of whom are boring civil servants or administrative employees – are considered conservative. Despite or because of such attributions, Münster is not only popular with “Tatort” fans – the city is growing continuously: by the end of 2030, a further 15,000 inhabitants are expected. Then 335,000 people will live there.
For the large number of newcomers, however, the supply on the housing market is far from sufficient. Anyone looking for a new home in Münster must therefore have a lot of patience. It is being rewarded: some interesting new buildings are currently being built, with project developers and the city administration trying to keep costs under control.
