The National Intelligence Council confirmed on Sunday that the level of terrorist and criminal operations in Nineveh had decreased.

The media office of the National Security Advisor stated, in a statement received by the (INA), that “Today, Sunday, the National Intelligence Council held its fourth session for the year 2024, headed by the National Security Advisor, Qasim Al-Araji, and in the presence of the Governor of Nineveh, Abdul Qadir Al-Dakhil, the Commander of the Ground Forces, the Operations Commanders, and the Commander of the National Security Advisor.” Nineveh Police and leaders and representatives of the intelligence services in the Iraqi intelligence community.”
He added, “The session witnessed listening to the report prepared by the Directorate of Military Intelligence to assess the situation on the ground in Nineveh Governorate, where the report concluded that there had been a significant decrease in the level of terrorist and criminal operations in the governorate. The report of the Directorate of Military Intelligence also praised the level of trust and cooperation between the people of Nineveh and the security services and their ability to The Iraqi security services are keen to establish security.”
He continued: “During the session, the threats that the presence of Al-Hawl camp may cause were discussed, and the necessity of closing it permanently after countries withdraw their nationals from the camp was emphasized.”
