The political forces welcomed the government’s dialogue to regulate the relationship between Iraq and the international coalition.
The coordination framework said in a statement received by the (INA): It “welcomes the joint statement in order to begin the dialogue that leads to the withdrawal of the international coalition after the end of its mission and its assistance to Iraq in the war against ISIS.”
He added, “While he appreciates the international community’s support for Iraq in its war against terrorism, he congratulates the great efforts made by all national forces, led by the government, over the past period in order to begin negotiations with the international coalition to redraw the relationship with it in a way that preserves Iraq’s rights, sovereignty, security and stability.” .
The framework stressed “the importance of formulating a specific and clear timetable for the duration of the presence of international coalition advisors in Iraq and starting to reduce the number of advisors on Iraqi soil,” stressing, “its full support for the transition to comprehensive bilateral relations with the coalition countries in the political, economic, cultural, security and military fields in line with the vision of The Iraqi government contributes to strengthening internal stability and preserving the country’s security.” The framework praised “the government’s commitment to what was stated in its approach, which included dialogue with the international coalition and redefining its presence and the need for it,” reiterating its “absolute confidence in the security services, with all their formations and names, in preserving the security and stability of Iraq.”
The coordination framework called on all active forces to “invest in this achievement and give the Iraqi negotiator an opportunity and not affect the atmosphere of bilateral dialogue with the coalition countries.”
The State Administration Coalition confirmed its support for the government’s position and said in a statement received by the (INA): “The State Administration Coalition announces its support for the government’s position and its support for the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in which it announced the start of the dialogue between Iraq and the international coalition led by the United States of America regarding organizing the relationship bilaterally.” With the coalition parties, ending the combat mission, and setting a timetable for reducing the number of advisors.”
The statement added, “The coalition reiterates its support for the government’s measures included in the ministerial platform, including dialogue with the international coalition and recharacterization of its presence and relationship with its parties.”
Today, Thursday, the Al-Azm Alliance announced its support for the government’s steps to begin negotiations with the international coalition, calling on national forces and political actors to support the dialogue.
The coalition stated in a statement, received by the (INA), that it “expresses its appreciation for the efforts made by Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani, and his government, as it is constitutionally responsible for preserving the supreme interests of the state and charged, in accordance with the constitution, with working to strengthen foreign relations and supports its steps to begin the negotiations file.” With the international coalition, with the aim of redrawing relations with it and strengthening them in accordance with the principle of sovereignty, in accordance with what was stated in the government’s ministerial curriculum.
According to the statement, the Al-Azm Alliance called on “all national forces and political and media actors to cooperate and join hands at this historic moment and to work to support this dialogue to ensure that it proceeds in a constructive and fruitful manner to achieve the common interests of Iraq and the peoples of the region and to ensure security and stability.”
The head of the Iraqi Islamic Supreme Council, Sheikh Humam Hamoudi, confirmed in a statement received by the (INA), that “the official agreement between the governments of Iraq and the United States and the efforts it includes to end the mission of the American forces according to a timetable that guarantees their gradual exit represents a national demand to preserve the sovereignty of Iraq and the stability of the region.” Which is facing a state of tension, and the presence of these forces has become part of the sources of concern for their countries and a provocation for their people.”
He added, “As we urge the government to continue in this direction, we renew our call for the necessity of setting the year 2024 to end the foreign military presence, and for the negotiator to be serious, determined, and aware of identifying the risks, the level of cooperation, and its controls that preserve national sovereignty.”
He continued, “We affirm our keenness on popular oversight to follow up on this file and the level of achievement, as the United States’ compliance is the result of the effort and coordination of the government, parliament, and the courageous national and popular forces that had previously succeeded in their political resistance in ending the occupation in 2011, to impose today their will again to expel the international coalition forces.” And confirming its national capabilities to protect Iraq’s security and sovereignty.”
In turn, the National Resolution Alliance said in a statement, received by the (INA), that “in continuation of the efforts of the government of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani to strengthen and guarantee Iraq’s sovereignty on land and in the sky and to reach the best results, negotiations came with the countries of the international coalition, which resulted in reaching understandings.” “In principle, to ensure the scheduling of the evacuation of foreign forces from all Iraqi territory.”
The statement added, “The National Resolution Alliance expresses its full support, praise, and support for the efforts of the Sudanese government, to consolidate Iraq’s sovereignty and organize a sustainable relationship with the countries of the international coalition in general and the United States of America in particular, based on mutual respect and balanced bilateral relations.”
The statement continued, “At the same time, the National Resolution Alliance calls on all political forces and formations to respect and fully commit to the constitutional and legal powers of the federal government and its fruitful efforts in strengthening the sovereignty of the Iraqi state, which represents a purely national and Iraqi demand.”
The Irada Movement expressed in a statement its support for the dialogue between Iraq and the international coalition regarding redrawing the bilateral relationship with the coalition led by the United States of America in a way that preserves Iraq’s security and sovereignty.
She added in a statement received by the (INA), that she “emphasizes the government’s commitment to the ministerial program and its fulfillment of the dialogue with the international coalition and ending the foreign military presence in Iraq.”
